Head Coach Remains Keen on Fulfilling Duties Amidst Mixed Reflections

Bangladesh's head coach, Chandika Hathurusingha, has expressed his continued commitment to completing his contract with the men's national cricket team.

Hathurusingha, appointed as Bangladesh's all-format coach in early 2023 on a two-year contract, is in his second stint with the team, having previously coached them from 2014 to 2017.

Speaking to the media in Rawalpindi on Monday, Hathurusingha reiterated his desire to remain as Bangladesh's head coach for the entirety of his contract, which runs until the 2025 Champions Trophy.

Hathurusingha's Reflections on Bangladesh's Journey

While expressing his commitment, Hathurusingha also acknowledged the challenges and mixed results faced by the team under his leadership.

Bangladesh made it to the Super 12 stage of the 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup but failed to qualify for the semi-finals.

However, the team has performed well in Test cricket, winning series against England and the West Indies in the past year.

  • Hathurusingha acknowledged the team's progress in Test cricket but emphasized the need for consistency in all formats.
  • He also highlighted the importance of player development and the role of the coaching staff in nurturing young talent.
