Olympic Games Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony Sets New Record
Largest Ceremony in Games History
Residents, Visitors Welcome at Opening Event
Paris, France - The Opening Ceremony for the Olympic Games Paris 2024 has made history as the largest in the Games' history. For the first time, the ceremony will welcome all residents of Paris and its surrounding region, as well as international visitors.
Despite intermittent rain, the approximately four-hour ceremony proceeded smoothly. Athletes made a grand entrance via the Seine River, cruising down the waterway in boats.
Marking a departure from tradition, this year's Opening Ceremony will not take place in a stadium. Instead, the French capital will itself serve as the stage, transforming into a stadium and theater. The celebration will culminate in a light show projected from the iconic Eiffel Tower.
