Milos Raonic: A Canadian Tennis Star
Early Life and Career
Milos Raonic was born on December 27, 1990, in Titograd, Montenegro (now Podgorica). He began playing tennis at the age of 6 and moved to Canada with his family when he was 10. Raonic quickly rose through the junior ranks, winning the Wimbledon boys' singles title in 2008. He turned professional in 2010 and has since become one of the most successful Canadian tennis players of all time.
Recent Successes
In 2016, Raonic reached the Wimbledon final, becoming the first Canadian man to reach a Grand Slam singles final in the Open Era. He also won the Paris Masters that year. In 2017, he reached the semifinals of the Australian Open and the quarterfinals of the French Open. Raonic has also been successful in Davis Cup play, helping Canada reach the semifinals in 2015 and 2019.
Injury and Return
Raonic suffered a foot injury in 2019 that kept him out of competition for much of 2020 and 2021. He returned to action in June 2023 and has been slowly working his way back to form. Raonic is currently ranked 33rd in the world and is looking to regain his status as one of the top players in the game.
Personal Life
Raonic is married to Canadian model Danielle Knudson. He is known for his philanthropy, having donated money to various charities in Canada and around the world. Raonic is also an advocate for mental health awareness.
